will they sink? will they float?
Hello my name is Cynthia Morrison-Bell, the curator of the Flow exhibition. This time last summer, I sat down with the artists and we discussed the idea of an exhibition set on this series of freshwater ponds. It has taken a whole year to get this exhibition funded and organised, but at last we’re getting ready to install the work… Full of trepidation, anticipation and excitement we’re going to start putting some of the work on the water….Will the artworks sink and disappear? Will they float and do what the artists want them to do?!

This exhibition is all about the mysteries of water: what it is and what it hides. Simple but thought-provoking, it bring you into contact with one of our daily realities.

I hope that this series of installations will remain floating! I also find it is a real experience for the visitor. Aesthetic, playful, with an attractive and enriching reflection on nature, on human technical and artistic creation, on how they can positively react on each other.

Karen rann’s Littoral Zone reminds us as humans that there are often forms of life which also
densely populate the planet. The world of water remains unheeded by many of us to our peril!

It is a revelation to see how four artists can interpret nature and its consequences in such different ways, each of which tells another story. A challenge well met! Coming from a country with harsh climactic conditions , the interpretation is really moving. Well done 4 artists!
